Triathlete Luigi Victor Robles also uses AVSH’s facilities to stay competitive in the international scene. “A well-developed sports facility has [a] significant effect [on] the kind of athletes we build,” he says. “The Hub goes beyond [what is expected and] it raises our [quality of] training to a higher level. It’s perfect for new and seasoned athletes,” he continues.
Extensive training area
AVSH sits in Ayala Land’s sprawling 750-hectare Vermosa estate, giving athletes all the space they need to train. “Malawak ‘yung [training] area. Wala distractions like sa previous na tine-trainingan namin,” Diones shares. “Napakalaking tulong sa amin lalong-lalo na kapag nagha-hard workout kami.”
In fact, AVSH’s training area includes a warm-up pool, bleachers, an Athlete’s Lounge with a pantry, jogging paths, a parking lot, and green open spaces. Soon to come: an archery range and an athlete’s dormitory with 100 beds.
Conducive training environment
Long jump medalist Khay Santos shares that training away from the bustling city helps put her in a better headspace for training. “Maayos ‘yung training ko rito kasi at the same time, nakaka-unwind ka kasi [maayos] ‘yung environment,” she shares.
Well-maintained facilities and well-established new normal safety procedures
Despite the ongoing pandemic, triathlete Gene Heart Quiambao works hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to improve her skills as an athlete. “Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub makes this possible because it provides us with well-maintained facilities. Not to mention the preparedness and safety procedures they hold on to ensure the safety of the community during this time of pandemic,” she explains.
Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub is located within the Vermosa Estate in the South. It is easily accessible via multiple access points like the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Daang Hari, Jose Abad Santos Road, Palanas Road, as well as ongoing infrastructure projects. This includes the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), and the upcoming Muntinlupa Cavite Interchange (MCX).
The development is conveniently located a few minutes away from the heart of Manila, less than 30 minutes from the bustling Makati CBD, through MCX.
